This page explains what FramesGames does with your data. It describes what the site actually does today, not a template of what a website might do. When something changes, this page changes with it.
The short version
There are no advertising trackers, no Facebook pixel and nothing that is sold or shared with advertisers. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits, but only if you agree to statistics cookies in the consent banner. If you decline, the analytics script is not loaded at all. Some articles embed YouTube videos, and those are covered in their own section below.
The site also keeps one simple counter: how many times each article has been opened. It is a single number stored next to the article, the same for everyone, with nothing recorded about who opened it.
Analytics, and only with your consent
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles people read. The consent banner is managed by the Complianz plugin. Until you accept statistics cookies, the analytics script stays inactive on the page, so no data is sent to Google and no analytics cookies are written. If you accept, Google Analytics sets its cookies, such as _ga, and receives information about the pages you view. When the account was created, data sharing with Google for other purposes was switched off. You can change your choice at any time through the consent settings link at the bottom of every page.
Embedded YouTube videos
Some articles contain videos embedded from YouTube, usually official trailers. When a page with such a video loads, your browser connects to YouTube, a Google service. YouTube receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. If you do not want this, avoid pages with video or use a browser that blocks third-party content.
What else the site loads
Images, fonts and scripts are served from framesgames.com. Fonts are stored on our own server rather than fetched from Google. Avatars are disabled, and there are no social media widgets.
Cookies
Apart from the analytics cookies described above, which only appear with your consent, the site sets a small number of functional cookies. They exist to make the site work, not to profile you:
pll_languageremembers which language version you are reading.RBUUID,personalize_sync,syncTimeoutandu_loggedare set by the site theme for reading preferences such as dark mode and saved bookmarks.- Cookies starting with
cmplz_store the choice you made in the consent banner, so that the banner does not ask again on every page.
If you log in as an author or administrator, WordPress sets additional session cookies. Ordinary readers never receive these. The full list with retention periods is on the cookie policy page.
Who can see your IP address
Two companies process technical data on our behalf, because a website cannot exist without them:
- Hostinger hosts the site and keeps server logs, which include IP addresses.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the site as a content delivery network and protects it from attacks. Your request passes through Cloudflare before it reaches us, so Cloudflare sees your IP address.
Neither is used for advertising or profiling. Google also sees your IP address if you accept analytics or open a page with an embedded video, as described above.
The contact form
If you write through the contact form, you send us a name, an email address and your message. That message is delivered to us by email. It is not stored in the website database. We keep it in our mailbox for as long as the conversation is useful, and we use it only to reply to you.
Affiliate links
Some links to shops are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Following such a link takes you to another company's website, where their privacy policy applies, not ours. We do not receive your personal data from those shops, only anonymous statistics about whether a purchase happened.
Backups
The site is backed up regularly to a private Google Drive account. Backups contain the site database. Their purpose is recovery after a failure, nothing else.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete it. In practice we hold very little: usually nothing at all unless you have written to us. You can also withdraw your analytics consent at any time through the consent settings. Use the contact form or write to [email protected] and we will answer.
Changes
When the site starts using something new, such as another analytics tool, a new kind of embedded content or a newsletter, this page is updated. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
