AMD has released Adrenalin Edition 26.8.1, driver number 26.10.41.01, listed in the Windows driver store as 32.0.31041.1004. It is a small update, but one entry makes the whole list worth reading: the driver adds support for a new graphics card, and AMD wrote a warning about that same card itself.

What is new
There is exactly one item under new products, and it is a notable one: the supported hardware list now includes the Radeon RX 9050 with 4 GB. It is the entry level card of the RDNA 4 line, and the memory figure is exactly what it says.
Three games also get support:
- Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
- STAR WARS Zero Company
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, open beta early access
Four gigabytes in 2026
The most interesting part of these notes is not in the new features, it is in the known issues. AMD writes there, in as many words, that Cyberpunk 2077 recommends a minimum of six gigabytes of video memory, and that RX 9050 4 GB owners hitting problems should set graphics intensive features to low or turn them off.
On the day it announces support for a new card, the manufacturer is already explaining what to do when that card runs out of memory in a game from 2020.
This is not a dig at AMD, the warning is honest and useful. But it shows clearly where the floor sits today: four gigabytes is the level where you start thinking about settings in six year old games, not new ones.
What got fixed
- Marvel Rivals and Subnautica 2 could fail to launch in a multi adapter configuration on Radeon RX 7000 series and above
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III could crash on startup in the same kind of combined graphics setup on Radeon RX 9000
- Recording and replay inside Adrenalin itself could fail to save the captured file when no audio output device was selected. This affected RX 9000 on Windows 10
The list is short and all three entries are narrow. If you are not running two graphics cards in one machine and not recording clips without a sound device, this update fixes nothing for you.
What still does not work
The known issues section is longer than the fixes this time, and a couple of entries are worth knowing in advance.
- FSR shows as switched off. In the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 open beta on Radeon RX 9000, FSR upscaling and FSR frame generation may appear inactive in Adrenalin even when they are enabled
- Anti-Lag 2 does the same. It may show as inactive after you disable frame generation in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
- Starfield crashes. Intermittent crashes are possible on Radeon RX 9000, and AMD openly recommends that anyone hitting this installs the previous version, 26.7.1
- Smart Access Memory may switch itself off after the driver is installed on Windows 10 systems
- AI Bundle components may fail to install in regions with limited access to HuggingFace and GitHub
The Starfield entry is the important one here. A recommendation from the manufacturer itself to roll back to the previous release is rare wording, and if you play Starfield on a 9000 series card, this update can wait.

Two reminders AMD repeats every time and people forget every time. For laptops and all in one PCs the manufacturer recommends drivers from the device maker rather than the universal package from the AMD site, because vendor builds account for the specifics of that model. And handheld gaming devices are not supported by this driver at all, those need a build from the device maker.
When rolling back to an earlier version, AMD suggests using its own cleanup utility, otherwise leftovers from the old package can get in the way of the installation.
