Digital Extremes has dated the next big Warframe update. Iceblade of Narin arrives on 23 September 2026 on every platform at once: PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android. It brings the 66th Warframe, Narin, a new Earth hub called Yuvan Peak, a Banshee rework and the game's first mode that needs exactly six players. All of it was shown on Devstream 197 in Seoul, and today the studio posted a highlights cut of the broadcast on Steam.
Narin: the 66th Warframe and the first female ice frame
The studio calls Narin its first female ice-themed Warframe. Until now, cold was pretty much Frost's territory. Narin is built around freezing enemies and making them weak to cold, and her abilities chain together: take off, crash down, sword dance, repeat. Digital Extremes warns that she is still in development and what the stream showed may change.

- Passive. Enemies killed with Cold Status are more likely to drop Cold Elemental Ammo, which temporarily adds Cold damage to your weapons.
- Ability 1. A barrage of swords that freezes enemies and adds Puncture, making them more vulnerable to crits.
- Ability 2. Narin siphons Cold Status from frozen enemies to regenerate Shields, with any excess turned into Overguard.
- Ability 3. She takes flight on crane wings and crashes into a target spot, freezing enemies in the area and raising their Cold vulnerability from all sources.
- Ability 4. A sword dance that hits marked enemies with slashes from afar. It pairs well with her third ability.
Her signature weapons are the Nunchasa bow and the Aksondol dual pistols. Narin's blueprints are sold by Cephalon Melica at Yuvan Peak for a new currency, Entropic Kuva, which drops from new Eximus units on the Zariman.
Banshee gets a rework, and the frame itself is free
The update also reworks Banshee's abilities. The studio's goal is to make her more lethal and more fluid to play, and the full breakdown is in a separate Dev Workshop. So that everyone can try the new Banshee, Digital Extremes is giving her away.
- Free. The Banshee Warframe plus a built Forma for anyone who logs in between 23 September and 7 October.
- Skin. The Banshee Threnodia Deluxe Skin designed by Mischka, with a matching Sentinel skin and Glyph.
Glacial Defiance: a mode for exactly six players

The most unusual part of the update is Glacial Defiance, high-level missions you cannot enter with fewer than six people. You start them with Cephalon Melica at Yuvan Peak using Cryobells, and you can run them up to three times a week. The studio refuses to call them raids: the idea was originally pitched by well-known player WarframeFlo and then reworked by Digital Extremes.
An important caveat from the developers: the plan is to launch the mode with Iceblade of Narin, but it may not make 23 September, and players will be told in advance if so. The studio also admits the first weeks may be a bit bumpy.
What else arrives on 23 September
- Yuvan Peak. A new Earth node where Narin froze the moment of your choice from The War Within to hold back the Zariman's influence. The story continues the Origin System plot.
- Citrine Prime. With Steflos Prime, Corufell Prime and Prime accessories.
- Qorvex Basilica. A gargoyle-style skin for Qorvex.
- TennoGen. Five new community-made items.
- Samsung Galaxy Store. Warframe launches there the same day, and players who download it from that store and log in by 7 October get the Manegarmr Ephemera and the Valentine Color Palette.

Next up: Tau and Soulframe
Iceblade of Narin sets the stage for the journey to Tau later this year. From 15 October the community takes part in Epoch Operation: Taubound, a one-time event that gathers everyone in a new Relay. Devstream 198 is set for 30 October and covers the first part of Tau.
Soulframe, the studio's second game, got its own segment. Preludes 16, subtitled Of Hook and Hound, adds fishing, dynamic weather and puppy bonding progression, and tweaks combat with parrying and Temper changes.
