The Apex Legends anti-cheat team has reported a cleanup at the top of ranked play. Suspensions of 60 days went to 258 Predator players on PlayStation and Xbox, and all of them lose the ranked points they earned. The report was published on 18 September 2026.
The reason is a single one: handing the account to other people. The terms of service forbid it, because it lets a profile hold its ladder position around the clock as players swap in and out.
How they were found
It started with community reports: some Predator players were running unusually long sessions with no breaks. Anti-cheat pulled login activity and device data tied to high-ranked accounts and found profiles being accessed from several distinct devices. Console players were the ones it caught.
- PlayStation, 115 players. 92 for frequent account sharing, 2 for sharing across five or more devices, 21 for both at once.
- Xbox, 143 players. 124 for frequent sharing, 2 for five or more devices, 17 for both offences.
About the false ban claims
In the same post the developers answered the rumour that recent enforcement had hit players for the bot mode. The accounts the community brought forward were reviewed separately, and the review confirmed those bans were valid.
The cleanup landed at the start of the season's second split, which began on 17 September. The studio's position is short: the Predator ladder should reflect the players who actually earned their place.
