Rebel Wolves has published the final PC requirements for The Blood of Dawnwalker. The headline is that 4K no longer asks for a GeForce RTX 5090.

What changed

The earlier spec sheet listed an RTX 5090 and at least 16 GB of video memory for 4K at 60 frames on ultra. The final one puts an RTX 4070 Ti or a Radeon RX 9070 in the same slot.

The gap between those options is not a generation, it is money. A 5090 costs as much as a whole gaming PC, and calling it a graphics card for gamers in 2026 takes some nerve. The 4070 Ti and the RX 9070 are cards people actually own.

There is a detail without which this picture is incomplete. The final requirements assume upscaling is on, meaning DLSS, FSR or XeSS. The old 5090 figure was for honest native 4K. So the bar did not only drop, the way it is measured moved as well.

That is not a dig at the studio. Almost everyone counts this way now, upscaling has become part of the standard configuration rather than a crutch for weak machines. But the difference is worth understanding: you get 4K reconstructed from a lower resolution, not 4K rendered outright.

The full table

All four tiers assume upscaling is enabled. Memory is 16 GB across the board, storage is 60 GB, and the system is Windows 10 or newer with DirectX 12.

  • Minimum, 1080p at 30 frames on low. Core i5-11400F or Ryzen 7 2700X, GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580, 6 GB of video memory or more.
  • Medium, 1080p at 60 frames. Core i7-11700K or Ryzen 7 5700X, GeForce RTX 2060 Super or GTX 1070 Ti, Radeon RX 5700 or Intel Arc A750, 8 GB of video memory or more.
  • High, 1440p at 60 frames. Same processor, GeForce RTX 4060, Radeon RX 7600 XT or Intel Arc B580, 8 GB of video memory or more. This is the preset the studio marks as recommended.
  • Ultra, 4K at 60 frames. Core i7-12700K or Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti or Radeon RX 9070, 12 GB of video memory or more.

The bottom rung is a pleasant surprise. The GTX 1060 and the RX 580 are cards from 2016 and 2017, and seeing them in the requirements of a 2026 release is close to unexpected.

What this means for Radeon owners

An RX 9070 in the 4K row is good news: AMD sits level with Nvidia here rather than a line below. Given that the numbers assume an upscaler, everything for red cards comes down to how good FSR is.

If your card is older and FSR 4 has not officially reached it, there is a way around. We covered it separately: how to get FSR 4 into a game that never shipped it.

When it lands

The game arrives on 3 September 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Steam page lists 2 September, and that one day gap is most likely regional.

Rebel Wolves is staffed by former CD Projekt Red people who worked on The Witcher 3. Bandai Namco publishes. The setting is fourteenth century Europe, and the protagonist is human by day and a vampire by night.
