The show is tomorrow, 25 August, and the lineup has doubled in the past few days. Keighley named eight games himself, another eleven studios confirmed their presence separately, and among them is Silent Hill: Townfall, which the earlier version of this piece could only list as expected.

Contents
  • The eight games Keighley named himself
  • Who confirmed separately
  • What people expect, and nobody promised
  • Two more streams in the same two days
  • When and where to watch

One caveat matters more than the list itself. Only Keighley eight are confirmed for the broadcast. The rest confirmed a presence at Gamescom in general, which is not the same thing: some of them may turn up on the show floor or in another stream rather than in the main show.

The eight games Keighley named himself

  • The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past. The first major Witcher 3 expansion in a decade and the first proper gameplay showing since it was announced in May. It is drawing more attention than the rest of the eight put together.
  • Final Fantasy VII Revelation. The finale of the remake trilogy, presented by director Naoki Hamaguchi.
  • Gears of War: E-Day. Out on 6 October, with an open beta already run in August.
  • Ananta. The urban open world from NetEase we covered separately.
  • Tides of Annihilation.
  • Metro 2039. Gameplay and a date have already been shown.
  • Game of Thrones: War for Westeros.
  • Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons.

Who confirmed separately

These studios announced their own appearances, outside the host list.

  • Silent Hill: Townfall. Three days ago it sat in the expected column, now it is confirmed.
  • Path of Exile 2 and Monster Hunter Outlanders.
  • Alien Isolation 2. Its prologue will be playable on the show floor, separately from whatever airs during the stream.
  • EXODUS, ONTOS, Showa American Story, Valor Mortis, Pony Island 2, Cinder City, AION2.

That puts the count past a dozen and a half before the show even starts. Going by previous years this is a floor rather than a ceiling: Keighley reliably holds back a premiere or two that appear on nobody list.

What people expect, and nobody promised

These are rumours and reasonable guesses. None of them has been confirmed by Keighley, the publishers or any official Gamescom channel, and I treat them accordingly.

  • An update on Fable, despite the delay into 2027.
  • A revival of some Xbox franchise handled by a third party studio.
  • The first real reveal of Hogwarts Legacy 2.
  • More screen time for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis ahead of its February window.

Two more streams in the same two days

People tend to forget these, and for anyone playing on PC the first one may matter more than ONL itself.

  • NVIDIA GeForce On, 25 August at 8 AM PT (5 PM CEST), three hours before ONL. The expected headline is the release of DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction: files for the second generation model have already turned up in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta. Last year NVIDIA said in advance that no hardware would be shown. This year that line is missing.
  • Future Games Show, 26 August at 10 AM PT (7 PM CEST). Over forty games and thirteen world premieres, hosted by two actors from Resident Evil Requiem. Tides of Annihilation, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault and AION2 are confirmed.

When and where to watch

Gamescom Opening Night Live runs on 25 August from 11 AM PT, which is 2 PM ET and 8 PM CEST. Geoff Keighley hosts alongside Eefje Depoortere, better known as Sjokz. It streams on YouTube and Twitch through the Gamescom and The Game Awards channels and usually runs close to two hours.

The show floor in Cologne opens from 26 to 30 August, with public days from the 27th.
