Gran Turismo Sport, which Sony never released on PC, now runs on Windows as a regular program. RyGT, a fan port by developer mlgprorektm8, gets the game all the way to racing: menus, car and track selection, the races themselves, results and audio all work, at 42 to 60 frames per second in races depending on how many cars are on screen. The latest build landed on October 15. There is no online play, no game files are included, and setup is a lot more involved than with the Bloodborne or Uncharted ports.
How it works

RyGT is a fork of Ryty, a general tool for moving PS4 and PS5 executables to Windows, Linux and macOS, which itself grew out of AnyPS5. Its converter turns the game's executable into GTSport.exe, the game code runs directly on the PC's processor, and RyGT's libraries stand in for the PS4 system. Graphics go through shadGT, a build of the shadPS4 emulator's renderer with Gran Turismo fixes, which translates them to Vulkan. That is a different lineage from most ports of the past two weeks, which grew out of the native Bloodborne port: we rounded those up in our overview of PS4 games running on PC without an emulator.
- Working. Boot, menus, car and track selection, races, the results screen, audio and controllers through SDL.
- Shaders. According to DSOGaming, the port has three compilation modes: precompile on the splash screen, pause the game on a new shader, and batch compiling during pauses to cut down micro-stutter.
- Frame generation. AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation is in, but the game provides no motion vectors, so edges and the HUD can ghost during fast moves.
- Tested by the author on Windows 11 with a Core i7-13700KF and RTX 4070 Ti, and with a Ryzen 5 9600X and RTX 3060 12 GB. The author doesn't say which system the 42-60 fps figure comes from.
What you need to run it

There is no ready-made executable here, and that is the main difference from the other ports. You need a decrypted dump of Gran Turismo Sport CUSA03220 with update 1.69. From it you extract eboot.bin, put three of the game's modules and six system modules from your own PS4 next to it (font, JSON, audio and security libraries), run everything through the ryty.exe converter, add the release's libs folder and the system fonts from your firmware, and only then start Play-GTSport.cmd. The steps are in the documentation of the mlgprorektm8/RyGT repository, which is also the only place to download the port from.
The catch

Gran Turismo Sport was built around online play, and Polyphony Digital shut its servers down on January 31, 2024: Sport Mode, lobbies and the community stopped working on PS4 too. The port doesn't support online at all, so on PC you only get the offline modes. The first 30 seconds of each race can stutter while graphics pipelines compile, and a few objects on the results screen are occasionally skipped because of bad data. The author is already working on a multithreaded renderer that should raise the frame rate.
It's not the only big Sony game in this wave either: in the past few days the first three Uncharted games and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled made it to PC as well. Gran Turismo has never officially come to PC, and Gran Turismo 7 stays on PS4 and PS5.
