The Order: 1886, Ready at Dawn's 2015 PS4 exclusive that never came to PC, now runs on Windows and Linux without an emulator. The fan port by developer lxnis got its first build on October 17 and version 0.2 on October 18. According to the author, menus, gameplay and cutscenes work, with 30 and 60 fps modes. No game files are included: you need a decrypted dump of CUSA00035 with update 1.02 from your own PS4.
How it works

The port comes from the same chain as most PS4 ports of the past two weeks: the native Bloodborne port (bbport), then the Crash Team Racing port SacredFire, then its Windows branch and a DmC port, with The Order changes on top. The game's code runs directly on the CPU, and the shadPS4 emulator's video core translates graphics to Vulkan. The author got the game working on Linux first and carried it over to Windows afterwards. The rest of this wave is in our list of PS4 games running without an emulator.
- Requirements. 64-bit Windows 10 version 1903 or newer, or Windows 11, a GPU with Vulkan 1.3 and 16 GB of RAM.
- Tested by the author on a Core i3-12100F with an RTX 3080 Ti, on Windows 11 and Nobara Linux.
- Launcher settings. 30 or 60 fps through a community patch, full-screen 16:9 without black bars, including 2K and 4K, anisotropic filtering, an FPS counter.
- Setup. Unpack the archive, run Order1886-Launcher.exe and point it at your dump folder. The first start spends a few minutes preparing the game image.
The catch

The port is labelled experimental, and the author is upfront about the problems. Shaders the game sees for the first time stall it briefly, most noticeably in cutscenes and on Windows, though they come from the cache afterwards. At 60 fps the button-mash QTEs in chapters 6 and 9 can't be completed, so play those at 30. Faces look too dark in dark rooms, and on Windows one save from a later chapter hung while loading. DLSS only works in the Linux build for now, and version 0.2 removed FSR 3.1 from the launcher, leaving it available for testing through an environment variable. There is no online.
Only download the port from the lxnis/Order1886-PC repository on GitHub. The Order: 1886 never officially came to PC, and Ready at Dawn closed in 2024. From the same run of fan ports we've also covered Gran Turismo Sport.
