Umbra is the Excalibur who remembers what he was. He fights on his own while you are in the Operator, and he arrives with his own Umbral mods. Story-wise the heaviest frame in the game, and you get him exactly once.
Can you buy Excalibur Umbra for platinum
In short, no, Excalibur Umbra is not sold for platinum or anything else, only The Sacrifice hands him over.
- Buying. Not sold for platinum. Umbra comes from the quest, one copy per account.
- Mastery. It ticks the same whether the frame was bought or built, so buying saves time, not rank.
Is there a Excalibur Umbra Prime
No, there is no Prime version of Excalibur Umbra yet. Primes usually arrive about two years after the original and strictly in order, so the turn will come, but nobody can promise a date.
Where the blueprints come from
Umbra comes from The Sacrifice: the blueprint after the first mission, the right to build him after the second. He has no components at all, the single blueprint is the whole recipe. Even built he cannot be used until the penultimate mission of the quest, and then he arrives at rank 30 with an Orokin Reactor already installed and a free slot. Replaying the quest gives no second blueprint and Cephalon Simaris does not sell one, so every account has exactly one Umbra.
What it is built from
The Foundry wants four runs: three components first, the final assembly after. Components run in the Foundry at the same time, so the whole thing takes about twelve hours: the Warframe itself builds instantly after them.

Where to farm the resources
Excalibur Umbra has no real resource bottleneck: everything on the list piles up while you play. The only item worth a deliberate trip is Orokin Cell, and you need 1. Gabii on Ceres is still the fastest place to farm them, with Deimos as the alternative.

Is Excalibur Umbra worth building
Umbra fights on his own: leave him standing and he keeps killing while you are out of the body as your Operator.
The numbers look like this: no mastery rank requirement, roughly 0 hours from the first foundry press to a finished frame, and 10 000 credits across all the builds together.
He comes from the story, not from a foundry queue. The Umbra mods he arrives with matter more than the frame.
