Vauban is an engineer with traps. Bastille lifts enemies and strips armour, Minelayer lays out four different devices, Photon Strike calls a hit from orbit. A frame for people who like preparing the ground first.
Can you buy Vauban for platinum

In short, yes, Vauban costs 300 platinum in the Market and arrives fully built with a free slot.
- Price. 300 platinum for a built Vauban with a slot for it.
- Mastery. It ticks the same whether the frame was bought or built, so buying saves time, not rank.
There is a second route people forget about. A full Vauban Prime set on warframe.market goes for around 119 platinum as of 29 August 2026, which is 2.5 times cheaper than the 300 the shop wants for the regular version. The difference is what you get: 300 buys a finished frame with a slot, while a market set is blueprints that you still have to build and feed with resources. Platinum but no time, use the shop. Time but little platinum, buy the Prime set, which is the stronger frame anyway.
Is there a Vauban Prime

Yes, Vauban Prime exists, but it is vaulted: its relics left the drop tables on 20.03.2018. That leaves three ways in: trade the parts from other players, catch it in Prime Resurgence when Varzia offers it for Regal Aya, or wait for an unvaulting.
The Prime recipe is its own thing and noticeably heavier: it eats 31 000 Alloy Plate instead of 150. Components cost 15,000 credits and 12 hours each, the final build costs 25,000 and sits for 72 h. The regular version takes exactly as long for its final build. Do not toss the spare parts, Baro Ki'Teer takes them for ducats, prices are in the table.
| Blueprint | Relics it drops from | Ducats | Resources per build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main blueprint | Axi F1 Relic, Lith F2 Relic, Meso V6 Relic, Neo V2 Relic | 65 | Vauban Prime Neuroptics x1, Vauban Prime Chassis x1, Vauban Prime Systems x1, Nitain Extract x5 |
| Chassis | Axi V1 Relic, Lith V4 Relic, Meso T6 Relic, Meso V4 Relic, Neo A4 Relic, Neo V6 Relic | 25 | Argon Crystal x2, Oxium x7 000, Nitain Extract x5, Alloy Plate x13 000 |
| Neuroptics | Lith V7 Relic, Meso N2 Relic, Meso V8 Relic, Neo V3 Relic, Neo V5 Relic | 100 | Nitain Extract x5, Rubedo x8 000, Salvage x16 000, Alloy Plate x18 000 |

Where the blueprints come from

The main blueprint is in the Market. Components are bought in the Nightwave Offerings at 25 creds each, 75 creds for the set. Vauban used to be a pure alert lottery, now it is only a matter of time, since creds accumulate from Nightwave tasks. The Circuit after The Duviri Paradox works too.
What it is built from

The Foundry wants four runs: three components first, the final assembly after. Components run in the Foundry at the same time, so from the first click to a finished frame it is roughly 84 h: twelve for the parts and 72 for the Warframe itself.
| Blueprint | Credits | Time | Resources per build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chassis | 15 000 | 12 h | Morphics x1, Ferrite x1 000, Rubedo x300 |
| Neuroptics | 15 000 | 12 h | Alloy Plate x150, Neural Sensors x1, Polymer Bundle x150, Rubedo x500 |
| Systems | 15 000 | 12 h | Control Module x1, Morphics x1, Salvage x500, Plastids x220 |
| Vauban | 25 000 | 72 h | Vauban Neuroptics x1, Vauban Chassis x1, Vauban Systems x1, Orokin Cell x1 |
Where to farm the resources

Vauban has no real resource bottleneck: everything on the list piles up while you play. The only item worth a deliberate trip is Morphics, and you need 2. Mercury and Earth. Apollodorus on Mercury is a short survival that keeps handing them out.
| Resource | Where it drops |
|---|---|
| Orokin Cell | Ceres, Saturn, and Deimos |
| Morphics | Mercury, Mars, Phobos, Europa, and Pluto |
| Ferrite | Mercury, Earth, Lua, Neptune, and the Void |
| Rubedo | Earth, Lua, Phobos, Europa, Pluto, Sedna, and the Void |
| Alloy Plate | Venus, Phobos, Ceres, Jupiter, Pluto, and Sedna |
| Neural Sensors | Jupiter |
| Polymer Bundle | Mercury, Venus, and Uranus |
| Control Module | Europa, Neptune, and the Void |
| Salvage | Mars, Jupiter, and Sedna |
| Plastids | Phobos, Saturn, Uranus, Pluto, and Eris |
Is Vauban worth building
Vauban throws devices: Vortex sucks a room into one point, Bastille strips armour, and his minelayer covers the rest.
The numbers look like this: no mastery rank requirement, roughly 84 hours from the first foundry press to a finished frame, and 70 000 credits across all the builds together. A finished Prime set on the market runs about 119 platinum.
Pure crowd control, no personal survivability. Put him behind a wall and he wins the room.
Every other frame is broken down the same way, the full list lives in the guide to all Warframes.
