Grendel eats enemies and digests them into buffs. Nourish hands the squad viral damage and energy, Feast turns a crowd into a health pool. Fat, loud and unexpectedly useful in a group.
Can you buy Grendel for platinum

Buying is simple here, yes, Grendel costs 325 platinum in the Market and arrives fully built with a free slot.
- Price. 325 platinum for a built Grendel with a slot for it.
- Mastery. It ticks the same whether the frame was bought or built, so buying saves time, not rank.
There is a second route people forget about. A full Grendel Prime set on warframe.market goes for around 60 platinum as of 29 August 2026, which is 5.4 times cheaper than the 325 the shop wants for the regular version. The difference is what you get: 325 buys a finished frame with a slot, while a market set is blueprints that you still have to build and feed with resources. Platinum but no time, use the shop. Time but little platinum, buy the Prime set, which is the stronger frame anyway.
Is there a Grendel Prime

Yes, Grendel Prime exists and is available right now. Parts drop from Void relics the usual way: farm relics, crack them in a fissure, collect four blueprints. Trading works too, built parts sell for platinum.
The Prime recipe is its own thing and noticeably heavier: it eats 5 500 Alloy Plate instead of 3 800. Components cost 15,000 credits and 12 hours each, the final build costs 25,000 and sits for 72 h. The regular version takes exactly as long for its final build. Do not toss the spare parts, Baro Ki'Teer takes them for ducats, prices are in the table.
| Blueprint | Relics it drops from | Ducats | Resources per build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main blueprint | Lith G8 Relic, Meso G6 Relic, Meso G8 Relic, Neo G10 Relic, Neo G7 Relic | 100 | Grendel Prime Neuroptics x1, Grendel Prime Chassis x1, Grendel Prime Systems x1, Orokin Cell x5 |
| Chassis | Lith A11 Relic, Lith C12 Relic, Lith G13 Relic, Lith M10 Relic, Neo S18 Relic | 45 | Tellurium x2, Plastids x450, Polymer Bundle x1 425, Alloy Plate x5 500 |
| Neuroptics | Axi G15 Relic, Axi M6 Relic, Axi S17 Relic, Meso A5 Relic, Meso B8 Relic, Neo M5 Relic, Neo Q1 Relic | 15 | Argon Crystal x2, Cryotic x600, Circuits x1 100, Nano Spores x4 975 |
| Systems | Axi G11 Relic, Axi G14 Relic, Neo M6 Relic | 65 | Nitain Extract x2, Neurodes x3, Rubedo x1 250, Salvage x3 800 |
Where the blueprints come from

The main blueprint is in the Market, but the components are their own strange errand. The Arbitration Honors vendor in any relay sells locators at 25 Vitus Essence each, and every locator unlocks its own mission on Europa. The Neuroptics Locator opens Archaeo-freighter, a 20 minute Survival. The Chassis Locator opens Icefields of Riddah, a six wave Defense. The Systems Locator opens Mines of Karishh, an Excavation for 800 Cryotic. Finishing the mission guarantees the matching component. The catch is the restrictions: no mods, no arcanes, no operator, no gear, no Archon Shards. There is no public matchmaking either, so the squad has to be assembled by hand, and only the host spends a locator.
What it is built from

It builds like every other frame: three parts, then the main blueprint over them. Components run in the Foundry at the same time, so from the first click to a finished frame it is roughly 84 h: twelve for the parts and 72 for the Warframe itself.
| Blueprint | Credits | Time | Resources per build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chassis | 15 000 | 12 h | Kuaka Spinal Claw x30, Condroc Wing x25, Tralok Eyes x20, Murkray Liver x15 |
| Neuroptics | 15 000 | 12 h | Argon Crystal x2, Control Module x5, Ferrite x3 500, Alloy Plate x3 800 |
| Systems | 15 000 | 12 h | Morphics x10, Circuits x1 125, Fish Meat x125, Fish Oil x100 |
| Grendel | 25 000 | 72 h | Grendel Chassis x1, Grendel Neuroptics x1, Grendel Systems x1, Orokin Cell x3 |
Where to farm the resources

Grendel has no real resource bottleneck: everything on the list piles up while you play. The only item worth a deliberate trip is Morphics, and you need 10. Mercury and Earth. Apollodorus on Mercury is a short survival that keeps handing them out.
| Resource | Where it drops |
|---|---|
| Orokin Cell | Ceres, Saturn, and Deimos |
| Kuaka Spinal Claw | Plains of Eidolon on Earth |
| Condroc Wing | Plains of Eidolon on Earth |
| Tralok Eyes | Tralok fish, coastlines near Cetus |
| Murkray Liver | Murkray fish, a rare catch on the coastlines near Cetus |
| Argon Crystal | Missions in the Void |
| Control Module | Europa, Neptune, and the Void |
| Ferrite | Mercury, Earth, Lua, Neptune, and the Void |
| Alloy Plate | Venus, Phobos, Ceres, Jupiter, Pluto, and Sedna |
| Morphics | Mercury, Mars, Phobos, Europa, and Pluto |
| Circuits | Venus, Ceres, and the Kuva Fortress |
| Fish Meat | cutting up fish at Fisher Hai-Luk in Cetus |
| Fish Oil | cutting up fish at Fisher Hai-Luk in Cetus |
Is Grendel worth building
Grendel eats: swallow a room, digest it for energy, and spit the leftovers at whatever is still standing.
The numbers look like this: no mastery rank requirement, roughly 84 hours from the first foundry press to a finished frame, and 70 000 credits across all the builds together. A finished Prime set on the market runs about 60 platinum.
Absurdly tanky and absurdly slow. His component missions are the real cost, not the resources.
Every other frame is broken down the same way, the full list lives in the guide to all Warframes.
