Caliban is a Sentient and Warframe hybrid and plays like it: Razor Gyre rams a crowd, Sentient Wrath lifts it, Lethal Progeny puts three helpers on the floor. The rework made him considerably livelier than he was at launch.
Can you buy Caliban for platinum

Short answer: yes, Caliban costs 325 platinum in the Market and arrives fully built with a free slot.
- Price. 325 platinum for a built Caliban with a slot for it.
- Mastery. It ticks the same whether the frame was bought or built, so buying saves time, not rank.
There is a second route people forget about. A full Caliban Prime set on warframe.market goes for around 30 platinum as of 29 August 2026, which is 10.8 times cheaper than the 325 the shop wants for the regular version. The difference is what you get: 325 buys a finished frame with a slot, while a market set is blueprints that you still have to build and feed with resources. Platinum but no time, use the shop. Time but little platinum, buy the Prime set, which is the stronger frame anyway.
Is there a Caliban Prime

Yes, Caliban Prime exists and is available right now. Parts drop from Void relics the usual way: farm relics, crack them in a fissure, collect four blueprints. Trading works too, built parts sell for platinum.
The Prime recipe is its own thing and noticeably heavier: the regular version needs no Salvage at all, the Prime wants 7 800. Components cost 15,000 credits and 12 hours each, the final build costs 25,000 and sits for 72 h. The regular version takes exactly as long for its final build. Do not toss the spare parts, Baro Ki'Teer takes them for ducats, prices are in the table.
| Blueprint | Relics it drops from | Ducats | Resources per build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main blueprint | Lith V11 Relic, Meso V11 Relic, Meso V13 Relic, Meso V15 Relic, Vanguard M1 Relic | 45 | Caliban Prime Neuroptics x1, Caliban Prime Chassis x1, Caliban Prime Systems x1, Orokin Cell x5 |
| Chassis | Axi P10 Relic, Lith K12 Relic, Meso V15 Relic, Meso Y1 Relic, Vanguard P1 Relic | 15 | Nitain Extract x2, Control Module x10, Rubedo x1 600, Salvage x7 800 |
| Neuroptics | Lith C13 Relic, Neo C7 Relic, Vanguard E1 Relic | 100 | Neurodes x4, Circuits x1 750, Plastids x450, Nano Spores x4 750 |
| Systems | Axi C10 Relic, Axi C11 Relic, Neo C8 Relic, Vanguard C1 Relic | 100 | Argon Crystal x2, Neural Sensors x5, Polymer Bundle x1 775, Ferrite x4 000 |
Where the blueprints come from

The main blueprint is a Market purchase for credits. Components drop from Narmer Bounties, which open after The New War. Only one component sits in the pool at a time, and which one is picked at random every time the bounties refresh, which is two and a half hours. So the hunt can drag on because of the rotation rather than the drop chance.
What it is built from

The build runs in four passes: three components at twelve hours each, then the frame itself. Components run in the Foundry at the same time, so from the first click to a finished frame it is roughly 84 h: twelve for the parts and 72 for the Warframe itself.
| Blueprint | Credits | Time | Resources per build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chassis | 15 000 | 12 h | Anomaly Shard x3, Narmer Isoplast x16, Mortus Horn x20, Hespazym Alloy x100 |
| Neuroptics | 15 000 | 12 h | Anomaly Shard x3, Narmer Isoplast x12, Neural Sensors x10, Tralok Eyes x20 |
| Systems | 15 000 | 12 h | Anomaly Shard x3, Narmer Isoplast x12, Breath of the Eidolon x30, Hexenon x30 |
| Caliban | 25 000 | 72 h | Caliban Neuroptics x1, Caliban Chassis x1, Caliban Systems x1, Orokin Cell x12 |
Where to farm the resources

There is exactly one bottleneck here, and it is Anomaly Shard: the recipe wants 9 and it will not pile up on its own. Railjack, from the Sentient Anomaly that rotates between Veil Proxima nodes. Second heaviest is Breath of the Eidolon at 30. Plains of Eidolon at night, from the mist near the water. Same trip as the wisps, so do both in one night. Everything else accumulates while you play and needs no special trip.
| Resource | Where it drops |
|---|---|
| Orokin Cell | Ceres, Saturn, and Deimos |
| Anomaly Shard | Murex ships found in Veil Proxima nodes marked with a special flashing icon (Railjack) |
| Narmer Isoplast | Narmer Bounties in the Plains of Eidolon (Earth) and Orb Vallis (Venus) |
| Mortus Horn | Mortus Lungfish, ponds around Cetus |
| Hespazym Alloy | built from Hesperon ore, blueprint from Smokefinger for 4,000 standing at Rapscallion |
| Neural Sensors | Jupiter |
| Tralok Eyes | Tralok fish, coastlines near Cetus |
| Breath of the Eidolon | Plains of Eidolon Bounties on Earth |
| Hexenon | Jupiter |
Is Caliban worth building
Caliban is the Sentient answer: Lethal Progeny spawns helpers that repair you and Sentient Wrath strips armour in a wide cone.
The numbers look like this: no mastery rank requirement, roughly 84 hours from the first foundry press to a finished frame, and 70 000 credits across all the builds together. A finished Prime set on the market runs about 30 platinum.
His rework made him genuinely good. The build cost is the problem now, not the frame.
Every other frame is broken down the same way, the full list lives in the guide to all Warframes.
