Gauss is about speed: the more you run, the higher the battery, and the battery drives both armour and damage. Mach Rush rams everything in the way, Thermal Sunder mixes cold and heat. The fastest frame in the game and a joy to move around with.
Can you buy Gauss for platinum
Straight to it: yes, Gauss costs 325 platinum in the Market and arrives fully built with a free slot.
- Price. 325 platinum for a built Gauss with a slot for it.
- Mastery. It ticks the same whether the frame was bought or built, so buying saves time, not rank.
There is a second route people forget about. A full Gauss Prime set on warframe.market goes for around 55 platinum as of 29 August 2026, which is 5.9 times cheaper than the 325 the shop wants for the regular version. The difference is what you get: 325 buys a finished frame with a slot, while a market set is blueprints that you still have to build and feed with resources. Platinum but no time, use the shop. Time but little platinum, buy the Prime set, which is the stronger frame anyway.
Is there a Gauss Prime
Yes, Gauss Prime exists and is available right now. Parts drop from Void relics the usual way: farm relics, crack them in a fissure, collect four blueprints. Trading works too, built parts sell for platinum.
The Prime recipe is its own thing and noticeably heavier: it eats 5 500 Alloy Plate instead of 2 950. Components cost 15,000 credits and 12 hours each, the final build costs 25,000 and sits for 72 h. The regular version takes exactly as long for its final build. Do not toss the spare parts, Baro Ki'Teer takes them for ducats, prices are in the table.

Where the blueprints come from
The main blueprint is in the Market. Components drop from Rotation C of Disruption on Kappa, Sedna, each at a 7.84 percent chance. The Disruption there is quick but demands patience: reaching Rotation C takes four successful rounds in a row.
What it is built from
The usual order: three components in parallel, then the Warframe on top of them. Components run in the Foundry at the same time, so from the first click to a finished frame it is roughly 84 h: twelve for the parts and 72 for the Warframe itself.

Where to farm the resources
The line that slows everyone down is Thermal Sludge. You need 85, and this is where the build stalls. Orb Vallis, from Coolant Raknoids and the Thermia Fractures event. Second heaviest is Grokdrul at 55. Plains of Eidolon, from Grineer containers and canisters around the camps. Everything else accumulates while you play and needs no special trip.

Gauss is speed as a mechanic: the battery fills as you run, and Thermal Sunder wipes rooms with swings of cold and heat.
The numbers look like this: no mastery rank requirement, roughly 84 hours from the first foundry press to a finished frame, and 70 000 credits across all the builds together. A finished Prime set on the market runs about 55 platinum.
The most enjoyable frame to move with in the entire roster. Ask yourself whether you like holding sprint.
