Rhino is the tank everyone recommends to a newcomer, and the advice still holds. Iron Skin eats damage while you work out what is going on, and Rhino Stomp leaves the room hanging in the air. Rarely breaks, easily fixed.
Can you buy Rhino for platinum

Short answer: yes, Rhino costs 375 platinum in the Market and arrives fully built with a free slot.
- Price. 375 platinum for a built Rhino with a slot for it.
- Mastery. It ticks the same whether the frame was bought or built, so buying saves time, not rank.
There is a second route people forget about. A full Rhino Prime set on warframe.market goes for around 60 platinum as of 29 August 2026, which is 6.3 times cheaper than the 375 the shop wants for the regular version. The difference is what you get: 375 buys a finished frame with a slot, while a market set is blueprints that you still have to build and feed with resources. Platinum but no time, use the shop. Time but little platinum, buy the Prime set, which is the stronger frame anyway.
Is there a Rhino Prime

Yes, Rhino Prime exists, but it is vaulted: its relics left the drop tables on 16.02.2016. That leaves three ways in: trade the parts from other players, catch it in Prime Resurgence when Varzia offers it for Regal Aya, or wait for an unvaulting.
The Prime recipe is its own thing and noticeably heavier: the regular version needs no Plastids at all, the Prime wants 900. Components cost 15,000 credits and 12 hours each, the final build costs 25,000 and sits for 72 h. The regular version needs 24 h for its final build, so the gap is real. Do not toss the spare parts, Baro Ki'Teer takes them for ducats, prices are in the table.
| Blueprint | Relics it drops from | Ducats | Resources per build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main blueprint | Axi R1 Relic, Axi R4 Relic, Neo R1 Relic | 100 | Rhino Prime Neuroptics x1, Rhino Prime Chassis x1, Rhino Prime Systems x1, Orokin Cell x3 |
| Chassis | Lith E1 Relic, Meso M1 Relic, Meso N6 Relic | 65 | Morphics x3, Ferrite x1 000, Plastids x400 |
| Neuroptics | Lith B1 Relic, Lith B4 Relic, Meso S14 Relic | 45 | Alloy Plate x150, Neural Sensors x2, Polymer Bundle x150, Rubedo x750 |
| Systems | Axi S3 Relic, Neo B3 Relic, Neo G6 Relic | 15 | Control Module x3, Morphics x1, Ferrite x500, Plastids x500 |
Where the blueprints come from

Rhino's main blueprint is sold in the Market for credits. The three component blueprints drop from Jackal, the boss on Fossa, Venus. It is one of the easiest boss fights in the game, cleared on any frame with nearly any weapon, so the farm comes down to luck: 38.72 percent for Chassis and Neuroptics, 22.56 for Systems. After The Duviri Paradox all his blueprints can be pulled out of The Circuit on the week Rhino is up.
What it is built from

The build runs in four passes: three components at twelve hours each, then the frame itself. Components run in the Foundry at the same time, so from the first click to a finished frame it is roughly 36 h: twelve for the parts and 24 for the Warframe itself.
| Blueprint | Credits | Time | Resources per build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chassis | 15 000 | 12 h | Circuits x450, Ferrite x1 000, Rubedo x300 |
| Neuroptics | 15 000 | 12 h | Alloy Plate x150, Neurodes x1, Polymer Bundle x150, Rubedo x500 |
| Systems | 15 000 | 12 h | Ferrite x500, Circuits x250, Polymer Bundle x100, Rubedo x400 |
| Rhino | 25 000 | 24 h | Rhino Neuroptics x1, Rhino Chassis x1, Rhino Systems x1, Neurodes x1 |
Where to farm the resources

Rhino has no real resource bottleneck: everything on the list piles up while you play. The only item worth a deliberate trip is Neurodes, and you need 2. Deimos, from the Cambion Drift and Infested missions. Bring Nekros or a Despoil build and the rate roughly doubles.
| Resource | Where it drops |
|---|---|
| Neurodes | Earth, Lua, Eris, and Deimos |
| Circuits | Venus, Ceres, and the Kuva Fortress |
| Ferrite | Mercury, Earth, Lua, Neptune, and the Void |
| Rubedo | Earth, Lua, Phobos, Europa, Pluto, Sedna, and the Void |
| Alloy Plate | Venus, Phobos, Ceres, Jupiter, Pluto, and Sedna |
| Polymer Bundle | Mercury, Venus, and Uranus |
Is Rhino worth building
Rhino is the wall every new player builds: Iron Skin absorbs a set amount of damage and Roar buffs the whole squad.
The numbers look like this: no mastery rank requirement, roughly 36 hours from the first foundry press to a finished frame, and 70 000 credits across all the builds together. A finished Prime set on the market runs about 60 platinum.
Twelve years old and still recommended first. If you are stuck on the star chart, this is the answer.
Every other frame is broken down the same way, the full list lives in the guide to all Warframes.
