Grand Theft Auto VI is 59 days away, and the date is holding. At Take-Two's annual shareholder meeting on September 17, CEO Strauss Zelnick said it again: the game launches on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar announced the official soundtrack album the same day, and pre-orders for two limited-edition DualSense controllers opened a week earlier. Here at FramesGames we pulled together everything that happened around the game in September, plus the question we keep getting asked: what happens to GTA Online?
November 19, consoles only for now
This is the third target. Rockstar first promised fall 2025, then set May 26, 2026 in May 2025, and on November 6 last year pushed the game back another six months. November 19 has not moved since. Pre-orders went live on June 25, and in August Rockstar released An Extended Look, a 27-minute video captured entirely in-game on PS5. It premiered on Netflix and reached YouTube six hours later. It is embedded above.
A PC version is not part of the November 19 launch, and Take-Two has not given it a date. Everything known about it so far is in our PC explainer.
A 34-track album and $84.99 controllers

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album comes out alongside the game on November 19. It is a partnership with Atlantic Records and holds 34 original tracks. Six singles are already streaming: Travis Scott's RHYNO, produced by Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, plus songs from Morgan Wallen, Keith Richards with Bright Lights, Big City, Yung Lean with Future and Metro Boomin, Rauw Alejandro, and a collaboration between CA7RIEL, Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress and Fred again.. Vinyl and CD editions are coming, three of them sold only on the album's own site. Rockstar also says more is coming on the in-game score and the next version of the radio.
Sony is making two Vice City themed DualSense pads, one black and one white. They cost $84.99, 84.99 euros or 74.99 pounds, pre-orders opened September 10, and they ship November 19. The white one goes to regular retailers, while the black one is a PlayStation Direct exclusive wherever that store operates.
GTA Online is not going anywhere

Zelnick answered this one directly: Take-Two will keep supporting GTA Online, which he called a robust business. GTA VI itself launches as a single-player game, and the company does not expect recurring player spending from the launch. When GTA 6 gets its own online mode and what it will look like, Take-Two is not saying. For the coming months, the old online is the only one there is.
And it is running the Business Rivalries event through September. What is worth grabbing right now:
- Until September 23. The Grapeseed Bunker is free at Maze Bank Foreclosures, and Agent 14's Bunker Research Missions pay double. Finish three of them this week for an extra GTA$1,000,000 and the Camo Ammu-Nation Sweatsuit.
- September 24 to 30. Anyone who completed at least one Weekly Challenge between September 3 and 23 can claim a free Penaud La Coureuse with an HSW upgrade on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
- New supercar. The Pegassi Horus, after a week of early access for GTA+ members, is on sale to everyone at Legendary Motorsport.
One last thing. A 192 GB archive from the 2022 breach has surfaced online, with a scrapped Liberty City and early GTA 6 files inside. FramesGames went through what is actually in it.
