The GTA 6 leaker vanished, the subpoenas did not

The person or group behind the name CyberLeek, who spent two weeks posting GTA 6 gameplay clips, has gone quiet. The website and Telegram channel went offline on 22 August, the last clips landed on 23 August, and after Rockstar's own showcase there were no new leaks at all. The subpoenas, meanwhile, are still standing: Microsoft and Discord have to hand over data by 4 September.

How it went, day by day

  • Mid August. GTA 6 gameplay clips start appearing online, roughly one a day. About a dozen in total.
  • 20 and 21 August. Take-Two goes to a US federal court and demands that Microsoft and Discord reveal who is behind the accounts. The court grants it.
  • 22 August. The CyberLeek website and channels go offline.
  • 23 August. The final batch of clips appears.
  • 26 August. Rockstar comments publicly for the first time, calls the situation hard on the team and confirms the 19 November release.
  • After the Netflix showcase. Silence. No new leaks.

Vanishing from the internet is easier than vanishing from a court docket. The DMCA subpoenas require Microsoft and Discord to produce account data by 4 September. That means the technical trail: addresses, linked email, login times.

We covered that separately when the court granted the request. Back then the story read like a leaker picking a fight with a publisher. Now you can see how it ended: one side is silent, the other is waiting for data on a schedule.

Alongside the clips ran a crypto token called CYBERLEEK on Solana. We checked its state ourselves through DexScreener data on 31 August 2026: the trading pair was created on 15 August, exactly during the first leaks.

One more detail: a search for that name returns around thirty trading pairs, including a copy on Base created on 24 August. Even the leaker's own brand got cloned on the way.

We are not linking to the token page and we are not suggesting anyone touch it. The numbers are here only because they explain the motive: the clips were given away free, the money was made elsewhere.

The game itself was not affected

The release date stands, 19 November 2026. Rockstar ran its extended showcase, and after it the conversation online finally moved from stolen clips to what the studio showed on its own terms.

How the unmasking ends we will not know before September. And going by the previous big GTA leak, silence from a leaker guarantees nothing.
