On October 1, a developer called deadinside28 released bbport, a native Linux port of Bloodborne. Thirteen days later GitHub hosts builds of eight more PS4 games that run on PC without CPU emulation: God of War III Remastered, P.T., Shadow of the Colossus, MediEvil, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, inFAMOUS Second Son, The Last Guardian and Gravity Rush 2. All of them are fan projects, none include game files, and every one needs a dump from your own console. Here is where to get each one, what it runs on and how far along it is.
Why they all landed at once

The PS4 has an x86-64 processor like any PC, so a game's code can run on the CPU directly, and only the console's system libraries and graphics have to be replaced. bbport showed how to do that for one game, and its loader then got reused: God of War III is built on the Windows fork of Bloodborne, the Last Guardian and Gravity Rush 2 ports credit bloodborne_pc and gow3_pc for their loader, and Shadow of the Colossus boots "with the bbport loader". Almost all of them use the shadPS4 emulator's video core to translate graphics to Vulkan. P.T. is the exception: its author wrote the port independently and used shadPS4 only as a reference for how the console behaves.
Interest is very uneven. The two Bloodborne ports, God of War III and P.T. each have between one and a half and three thousand GitHub stars, while the rest count in dozens or single digits: almost nobody has written about them yet.

What runs on Windows

- Bloodborne. The most mature option is Supermedo's Windows fork, with a launcher, DLSS, FSR 3.1 and 4 and an unlocked frame rate. Versions, requirements and crash fixes are in our native Bloodborne guide.
- God of War III Remastered. Playable start to finish, 144 FPS on average on the author's RX 6700 XT, details in our separate story.
- P.T. The only port its author calls complete, and the only one with a macOS build. We covered it on its own.
- Shadow of the Colossus. It needs the European CUSA08809 dump, version 1.01, plus two modules from your own console for sound. In the author's title screen demo test, the 60 FPS mode averages about 67 frames, and 29-34 on the canyon bridge.
- MediEvil. The 2019 remake, which according to its README runs at a locked 60 FPS, including 4K on an RTX 5080. It does not go above 60, the game's own limit. No outlet has covered this port yet, so only the author and early users have tested it.
- Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. Races, adventure mode, saves and split screen work. A Windows build arrived in version 0.3.1, but the author has only tested the port on a Steam Deck: 60 FPS in menus and 37-45 in races.
Three ports tested on Linux only

Developer HayatoG released three ports on a shared core within two days: The Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2 and inFAMOUS Second Son. The Last Guardian runs at a stable 30 FPS like on PS4, with 60 FPS and unlocked modes available in the launcher as an experiment. Gravity Rush 2 holds 30 too. inFAMOUS reaches gameplay and the first chapters, but runs at 20-30 FPS on an RTX 2060 and has known image glitches. Windows builds are compiled automatically, but nobody has tested them in game yet, so for now these are ports for Linux and the Steam Deck.
What about PS5 and PS3

Here things are much thinner. No PS5 game is playable in a public emulator build yet: Demon's Souls was shown running in KytyPS5 at 40-60 FPS in a video, but that build is not public, Ghost of Yotei manages 1-2 FPS in SharpEmu, and AnyPS5 does not boot commercial games yet. On PS3 there is the ps3recomp static recompilation toolkit, which we covered alongside Xbox 360 ports, but it has no downloadable game builds, only source code. RPCS3 is still the easiest way to play PS3 games on PC.
One rule covers all of these ports: download only from the repositories in the table. Clones offering an "official free download" and torrents have already sprung up around Bloodborne and God of War III, and another such repository claims PS5's Marvel's Wolverine is playable. A real port never contains the game itself.
